Rinchenpong is a small village in West Sikkim at an altitude of 5500 ft. Distance from Gangtok is 123 Km and from Siliguri it is 117 Km.  The third oldest monastery in Sikkim is situated in Rinchenpong.  Picturesque view of kanchanjangha is just mind blowing. It is said once the Nobel poet Rabindranath Tagore  visited here and wrote the poem “chitto jethha voy shunnyo…”for his book Gitanjali. There is a view point near Rinchen Chholing monastery named Rabindra smriti Van honoured to the great poet.  Staying in Rinchenpong you can cover all the sight seeing of Pelling. How to Reach

Nearest railway station is NJP and nearest airport is Bagdogra. From Siliguri you will get share cab for Jorethang. From Jorethang limited share cab is available for Rinchenpong. Or you can reserve car to reach directly Rinchenpong
